  2. Adventure

  5. Adventure was the very first text adventure, written by Will Crowther and
  6. Don Woods, circa 1977. Included here are two versions:

  8.     Adventure        The original game
  9.     Adventure550        An extended version of Adventure, at
  10.                 about twice the size.

  12. The Original
  13. ============

  15. This version was written by Graham Nelson, using his own adventure game
  16. compiler, Inform. Inform produces code in the same format as was used by
  17. Infocom, Inc. To play the game you need an interpreter for the Infocom
  18. format. The one supplied (just click on the Adventure icon) was ported to
  19. the Amiga by me. The full interpreter package can be found on Aminet, as
  20.

  23. (This is the current release; later ones will have a different filename
  24. to reflect the version number.)

  26. Adventure 550
  27. =============

  29. This version was written by David Platt, and is about twice the size of
  30. the original Adventure (the maximum score is 550 points, hence Adventure
  31. 550). This port has an Amiga specific front-end, with proper command line
  32. editing, a command line history (use the cursor up/down keys to step
  33. through previously entered commands) and file requesters for the save and
  34. restore operations. It requires at least Kickstart 2.04. It is based on
  35. source posted to Usenet by Ken Wellsch.
